Summary


Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has a vacancy for the role of Assistant Finance Manager – Costing.

We are looking for a candidate who is keen to develop a career in NHS finance and we will actively support you with this. The successful candidate will work closely alongside Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Recovery and Project teams.

The role will provide detailed advice and support in the development and implementation of Service Level Reporting (SLR), Patient Level Costing (PLICs) and the submission of the National Cost Collection (NCC).

The Trust is expanding it’s costing function in order to support a programme of work focused on developing robust costing models and project financials. The ultimate goal to utilise data driven insights to inform decision-making across the Trust and support the creation of a sustainable financial recovery pipeline.

· Lead the development and implementation of the Trust’s Patient Level Information Costing System (PLICS), Service Line Reporting (SLR) tools and The Costing Transformation Programme

· Manage the successful submission of the yearly National Cost Collection (NCC) whilst complying with national guidance and working continuously to improve the quality and accuracy of data submitted.

· Develop reports from benchmarking tools and review information against peers to identify areas where efficiency improvements can be made.

· Provision and development of reports designed to communicate SLR information to operational managers, clinicians, divisional and Trust boards.

· Programme manage the costing function to deliver annual national costing returns and quarterly PLICS results, with continuous improvement between model runs to improve the accuracy of results.

· Undertake detailed analysis of complex patient level costing information and support finance colleagues, operational managers and clinicians understanding and interpreting the results.

· Manage the successful processing, maintaining, and updating of Patient Level and National Cost Collection data within the costing system

· Ensure compliance with National Costing Standards and implementation of new standards and make sure that these are reflected within the costing model
