This is a compassionate and rewarding role providing trauma-informed, person-centred support to survivors with complex needs, using safeguarding, risk management and residential support skills to help women feel safe and rebuild their lives.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the gender-specific nature of this role, applications can only be accepted from women candidates. SALARY: £13.85 per Hour
LOCATION: Bexhill, East Sussex
JOB TYPE: Part-Time, Casual / Sessional Day Shifts
WORKING HOURS: 12 hours including an unpaid half an hour break, 8am to 8pm (Shifts are available Monday to Sunday)

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Specialist Domestic Abuse Support Worker joining a compassionate service supporting women with multiple and compound needs. You will deliver person-centred and trauma-informed support tailored to each individual.
As a Specialist Domestic Abuse Support Worker you will work across residential and community settings, helping survivors access safe accommodation, specialist interventions, advocacy and pathways to independence.
Working as a Specialist Domestic Abuse Support Worker you will collaborate with partner agencies, carry out assessments, reduce risk and promote empowerment through structured activities, life-skills development and ongoing emotional and practical support.

DUTIES
Your duties as the Specialist Domestic Abuse Support Worker include:
• Provide Person-Centred Support: Deliver tailored, trauma-informed assistance to survivors with complex needs
• Complete Risk Assessments: Identify, record and manage risks to maintain safety and wellbeing
• Develop Care Plans: Create personalised action plans supporting housing, health and social needs
• Multi-Agency Collaboration: Liaise with external partners to coordinate integrated support
• Deliver Programmes: Facilitate key-work sessions and structured activities promoting independence
• Promote Safe Environments: Support the maintenance of a safe, respectful and inclusive residential setting
• Encourage Empowerment: Assist women to develop life skills and access community resources
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate case notes, reports and data in line with GDPR
• Safeguarding Compliance: Ensure all work is completed within safeguarding and health and safety frameworks
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Knowledge of safeguarding, risk management and trauma-informed practice
• Previous experience in residential or community-based support
• Understanding of housing, benefits and advocacy processes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to remain calm in crisis situations
• Commitment to equality, diversity and anti-discriminatory practice
