Summary

West Herts College Group has an exciting new opportunity in the School of A Levels for a part time Lecturer in Sociology working 15 hours per week at our Watford Campus.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Lecturer of Sociology, who is keen to continuously improve the experience for learners. We welcome applications from newly teacher trained and experienced teachers from Schools, Sixth Form Colleges and FE Colleges.

The successful candidate should hold a degree in Sociology and previous experience of delivery on AS/A2 curriculum would be advantageous. You should either hold or be working towards a recognised teaching qualification.

The successful candidate will put Teaching, Learning, Assessment and learners progress at the forefront to support learners of all ages and abilities to achieve their potential. You’ll have the full support of a dynamic team and opportunities to bring your ideas to the role. Training and development are at the heart of everything we do so you’ll be encouraged to upskill.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 30th November 2025 with interviews being held on the week commencing 5th January 2026. The successful candidate will join our team from January 2026.
