Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Tractor Driver to join our dedicated team based at the council depot in Wade Road. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting both grounds maintenance and street cleansing operations, undertaking a variety of tractor-based tasks to help maintain public spaces across the borough.

Ideally, candidates will have experience operating tractors and hold a C+E driving licence. However, full training will be provided for those with tractor experience who are willing and able to obtain the C+E licence category, to include driver CPC.

The role involves all aspects of grounds maintenance work with more of a focus on operations using the tractor and multiple implements, including side arm flail hedge cutting.

Main responsibilities include duties such as Trimax grass cutting, flail hedge cutting, green waste collection and fly tip removal. These works are typically carried out in public areas across the borough, which include parks and open spaces.

All work must be completed in accordance with quality standards, work instructions and specifications within Grounds Maintenance Management Plans.

The skills and competencies required are:

Tractor Operation Experience, Skilled in operating medium to large tractors and implements, particularly for hedge trimming, verge cutting, and mowing tasks.
Motivation & Organisation, A highly motivated individual who is well-organised and able to follow instructions effectively.
Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work well within a team environment.
Demonstrates precision and care in all aspects of the job.
Proactive and adaptable, with a positive approach to varied tasks and changing priorities.
Holds a full UK driving licence and is capable of passing all required tests to obtain the CE licence entitlement.
