Summary
Responsibilities, Activities and Duties:
- Assist priest during poojas, abhishekam, aarti, and other rituals in accordance with
Hindu agamas and traditions.
- Prepare offerings (neiveithyam), flowers, lamps, and items used in daily worship.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanctity of the temple premises, shrines, and deities.
- Support arrangements for religious festivals, special ceremonies, and community
events.
- Prepare the sanctum (garbhagriha) and assist in decorating deities.
- Help with temple administration related to worship activities (recording pooja
bookings, assisting devotees, etc.).
- Distribute prasad and help manage devotees during festivals.
- Assist in faith-based educational and cultural programs for children and youth.
- Carry out other religious and community duties as instructed by the temple
management.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Must follow the Hindu faith and understand Hindu rituals and traditions.
- At least 2–3 years of experience serving in a temple or religious setting.
- Knowledge of Sanskrit or Tamil prayers and mantras preferred.
- Ability to work respectfully with priests, trustees, and devotees.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
