Summary
Performance and Financial Management1. To be responsible for agreed budgets within the Directorate, ensuring that budgets are contained within the figures agreed and cost pressures are identified and flagged up well in advance.2. To report on the profit and loss of the service lines within the Directorate and ensure they perform to agreed plans and targets.3. Analysis of performance data and capacity and demand data to inform service developments.4. Develop and deliver agreed annual cash savings that are released due to efficiency savings and Transformation projects within the Trust Financial plan.5. Work with the Finance management lead for the Division to identify cost improvement plans that will improve financial performance throughout the financial year.6. Embed a performance management framework that uses Service Line reporting.7. Work with the Finance management lead for the Division to develop and maintain a culture of financial control and accountability amongst both clinical and non-clinical staff in the Division.8. Meet all minimum healthcare standards and stretch targets set for the Directorate.9. Where assigned be responsible for the achievement of Emergency Access, 18 week, cancer targets and develop a culture where the quality of services are continually improved and target achievement is seen as paramount.10. Develop project plans in conjunction with others to meet national, local and internal targets and monitor performance against them.11. Respond to any breaches in Trust, local or national targets and put in place remedial plans to ensure non reoccurrence. Operational Management:12. To support the management of the performance of the Clinical Directorates.13. To ensure Clinical Directorates meet their waiting list targets and contribute to the delivery of Key Performance Indicators.14. To contribute to the development of operational objectives within Clinical Directorates which are consistent with the Division & Trust Corporate objectives.15. To ensure that operational systems are delivered in the inpatient setting that support efficient patient flow and avoidance of delays.16. To contribute to the development of effective Clinical Governance, Risk management and Controls assurance systems, ensuring that procedures are embedded into the culture of the Clinical Directorates.17. To Liaise and build a relationship with PALS Liaison Officers along with relevant external agents and develop systems/forums to collate patients/carers views on all aspects of hospital services.18.
