We Are Hiring Care Assistant
Location: EH34, Edinburgh
Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour
Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Summary
The role focuses on delivering compassionate, person-centred care that promotes dignity, comfort, and wellbeing for older residents. The successful candidate must understand and fulfil their responsibilities regarding Health & Safety and Equality & Diversity at all times.
This profile outlines the main duties but is not exhaustive—additional tasks within the same skill level may be required.
Key Accountabilities
1. Provide high-quality care and support to residents, considering their individual preferences and following organisational policies and procedures.
2. Administer medication safely and effectively in line with care plans and company policy (once fully trained).
3. Deliver personal care with dignity, respect, and kindness, supporting residents to make choices that enrich their daily lives.
4. Work with residents to keep care plans up to date, ensuring support is personalised and responsive to individual needs.
5. Support risk assessments to ensure care is delivered safely and in line with health and safety regulations.
6. Assist with individual and group activities, promoting social interaction and wellbeing in line with care plans.
7. Identify any issues in service delivery, responding positively to complaints and ensuring concerns are resolved appropriately.
8. Contribute to projects and improvement initiatives that support the organisation’s wider goals and values.
Qualifications
1. Literacy and numeracy equivalent to GCSE grade C in English and Maths
2. Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards it)
