Summary
This is an exciting opportunity for 1-year fixed tern contract locum urology consultant split post between two administrative units of University College London Hospital (UCLH): the Functional, Restorative and Adolescent Urology service (part of the Surgical Specialties Division) provided from Westmoreland Street, together with the Uro-neurology service at the National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery (NHNN, part of Queen Square Division).
This role will work as part of the Uroneurology Team alongside the Functional, Reconstruction and Adolescent Urology team. The post holder will be responsible for the care of complex reconstructive and functional urology patients as well as supporting the department of Uroneurology care for patients with neurological disease.
The post holder will be expected to work within the FRA Neuromodulation team, the FRA Reconstruction and Adolescent Team as well as the Uroneurology team at NHNN.
The post holder should have a minimum of one year sub-specialty experience in FRA surgery and should be able to perform sacral neuromodulation surgery independently, having performed a minimum of 25 operations independently and to be able to programme SNM (with evidence of having attended SNM Courses). They should also have a minimum of 4 months Neuro-urology experience.
The consultant’s job plan will comprise 10 Programmed Activities per week. A provisional job plan has been drafted that includes clinics, theatre sessions, and MDTs as well as admin and SPA time.
