Summary
P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients, who are currently seeking a Machine Manufacturing Technician to join their team based in Norwich on a full-time, permanent basis.
Main Responsibilities:
• Actively participate in the assembly, manufacture and test of Electrical and Mechanical products to agreed quality standards using approved documented methods and procedures.
• Working to production schedules and targets to ensure on time deliveries are achieved.
• Accurately assemble and test all products, electrical, mechanical, or electro/mechanical as required.
• Adherence to the Machine Production Department build and works order schedules or requests by the Manufacturing Manager.
• Identifying, recording and resolving all assembly related issues or equipment malfunctions.
• Work as part of a flexible team using approved methods of assembly and testing to produce safe quality products.
• Ensure safe working practices are adhered to and maintained at all times.
• Process orders in line with Master Production Schedule/Work to List.
• Complete sub-assembly and spares work orders as per requested date.
• Maintain quality standards and associated reporting procedures.
• Be proactive in the development of existing and new products and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate records as specified by the Manufacturing Manager.
• Provide assistance and support to other departments and personnel as required.
• Liaise daily with Manufacturing Manager, discussing all relevant issues including drawing changes, BOM updates and manufacturing improvements.
• Collective responsibility for tooling and work methods within the department.
• Maintain good order of the company property and general housekeeping.
• Complete daily, weekly, monthly safety checks as required.
• To abide by all statutory requirements including those relating to COSHH and health and safety.
• To adhere to and promote all current company policies and procedures in place.
• Work within the department, or as part of cross functional teams to implement continuous improvement working towards World Class Manufacturing.
• To undertake any other reasonable task as directed by the Management team.
• Manage time productively and efficiently.
Experience and Qualifications:
• Maths, literacy and ability to read a basic engineering drawing.
• NVQ Level 2 in a relevant discipline (Desirable).
• Basic PC knowledge, Windows, Microsoft Office, etc. (Desirable).
• Understanding of use of basic hand tools and assembly techniques.
• Two years in a mechanical/electrical sub-assembly environment (Desirable).
• Ability to fault find and suggest improvements to current builds, procedures and communicate these to the team (Desirable).
• Some exposure to mentoring/coaching and assisting other team members with training and improving their own skills base (Desirable).
