Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Longdon Park School, Egginton, DE65 6GU
Salary: £22,160.62 per annum (not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 8:00am–4:00pm | Wednesday 8:00am–5:00pm
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: December 2025

About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital part in supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom, helping them to flourish academically, socially, and emotionally.
You’ll work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff in a collaborative environment that values empathy, creativity, and personal growth.
You Will:
Support teaching staff in preparing lessons and delivering engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
Work 1:1 and in small groups, guiding pupils through personalised learning plans.
Encourage emotional regulation and positive behaviour through patience, understanding, and consistency.
Supervise and inspire pupils during classroom and outdoor activities, promoting independence and confidence.
Build trusted relationships that make pupils feel safe, valued, and motivated.
Create a calm, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where every child can thrive.
You’ll be part of a close-knit, caring team that works together to help every pupil achieve their very best.
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need prior classroom experience — we’ll provide full training and support. What truly matters is your compassion, commitment, and enthusiasm for helping young people overcome challenges and succeed.
You’ll Bring:
English & Maths Level 2 (GCSE Grade C/4 or above)
A Full UK Driving Licence
A positive, resilient attitude and genuine care for supporting young people with additional needs
The confidence and adaptability to work both in the classroom and outdoors
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

About us
Longdon Park School opened in June 2015. We are a co-educational day school catering for pupils aged 7 to 18 with complex educational needs, communication difficulties and challenging behaviour primarily with a diagnosis of ASD. We provide a therapeutic, supportive and inclusive learning environment where our young people learn to accept responsibility for their actions, make positive decisions and display pro-social behaviour. We are committed to raising achievement and enabling pupils to recognise their potential and supporting them through a personalised, engaging curriculum. Our priority is to develop the foundation knowledge and skills required to make a manageable and smooth transition to the next life stage.
Longdon Park School is not readily accessible by public transport.
For over 19 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties. We are a leading provider of education for neurodivergent young people and young adults. As part of Outcomes First Group, we are leading our sector in setting and delivering new approaches that provide measurable outcomes for those in our care.
