Summary

My very busy well-established manufacturing clients are now recruiting an Extruder Operator to ensure the maximum efficiency of the production lines. Very friendly well-run busy company.

8am-4.30pm Mon-Thurs
8am -1pm Friday
37 hours per week
Hourly rate £13.50-£14 DOE

Keys Tasks:

• Execute the work in accordance with H&S and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) Guidelines
• Changeover and set up the machine to produce product that meets the Quality Specifications.
• Record all the machine settings used and observations throughout the production run.
• Monitor the extrusion process throughout the run for consistency by inspecting the product for defects and deviations from specification.
• Trouble shoot and adjust machine as necessary to maintain process & product within the required specification.
• Record inspection and maintenance data and advise supervisor of any issues.
• Record the type, batch and quantity of materials used, and returned.
• Record the details of product made on the run sheet and on the product itself.
• Record the hours used produce each job on a daily basis on the time sheet
• Granulate the appropriate materials from setup and record the type, batch and quantity.
• Maintain the 5S system for the production line.
• Carry out routine servicing, e.g.: Die preparation, filter changes, seal replacement, water changes, bath cleaning
• Safely “Put away” sleeves in the appropriate storage location as directed by the Logistics Operators recording the product put away and its location on the Extrusion Location Log.

Objectives:

1. Carry out work in compliance with Health and Safety Policies.
2. Set up the machine to manufacture items that meet the Quality controlled specifications.
3. Inspect products for deviations from specifications, record results and adjust the machine as necessary to return production to the required specification.
4. Execute the work in a timely manner to achieve the weekly production plan (to ensure the Service level targets are achieved)
5. Accurately record the data of production runs on the run sheets
