Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

De Warenne Academy have an exciting teaching opportunity and are looking for an outstanding, committed and motivated qualified teacher to contribute to the development of teaching and learning and curriculum in our English department, to start in September on a full time, permanent basis.

This is an ideal opportunity for a classroom practitioner who can display a real passion for developing and inspiring the pupils in their care.

Since our OFSTED inspection in October 2021, which deemed De Warenne a ‘Good’ school in all areas, GCSE results have shown a continuous improvement year on year.

The class of 2024 left our Academy with fantastic results; 54% of students gaining a grade 5 or above in both English and maths, which is the highest attainment in the history of the Academy and making it one of the highest attaining schools in Doncaster. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum, with academic, vocational and technical subjects offered to all our students and we deliver a rich and varied personal development curriculum. We offer a wide range of enrichment activities in order to unearth a variety of strengths and talent, which we strongly encourage students to take part in. We also take learning beyond the classroom with events and educational visits running throughout the year. We serve the villages of Conisbrough and Denaby Main, situated between Doncaster and Rotherham. We are a small but oversubscribed academy, with over 750 students on roll, and we pride ourselves on knowing our students well and doing our best to ensure everyone fulfils their potential.

We benefit from having a recently built academy situated in spacious grounds with excellent facilities including a recently built 3g astroturf pitch.
