Summary

As a Medicines Counter Assistant, you will help customers in the pharmacy by offering friendly service and support to the team. You will assist with selling medicines and other health products, as well as making sure everything in the pharmacy runs smoothly.
The appropriate training will be provided so that the following duties can be carried out professionally and legally. On successful completion of the Medicines Counter Assistant training, a professional certificate will be provided.

The main duties of the role will be include:

- Helping Customers: Greet customers with a smile, listen to their needs, and help them find the products or information they need in a polite and helpful way.

- Providing Basic Health Advice: Give simple advice to customers on common health issues, like minor aches and pains, and suggest over-the-counter products to help them feel better.

- Using the Cash Register: Serve customers at the till, process their payments (cash or card), and give the correct change when needed.

- Keeping the Pharmacy Tidy: Make sure the pharmacy looks clean and organized, and that products are neatly displayed for customers. You’ll also need to help keep the shop area clean.

- Following the Rules: Follow all the rules about selling medicines and handling prescriptions to make sure everything is safe and legal.

- Managing Stock: Help with ordering products when stocks are low and make sure items are put in the right place. You will also help keep track of what’s been sold and deal with expired products.

- Following Procedures: Stick to the pharmacy's guidelines to make sure everything is done properly and safely.

- Working Well with Your Team: Get along with your team members, share customer feedback, and help improve service wherever you can.

- Checking Products: Regularly check that products on the shelves are within their expiry date, and deal with any expired items according to company rules.

- Looking Professional: Dress in a neat and tidy way as per the pharmacy's dress code and maintain a professional appearance at all times.

- Other Tasks: You may be asked to help with other tasks that are reasonable and necessary for the smooth running of the pharmacy.
