Summary
THRIVE Practitioner (HLTA) - Make a Real Difference!
Locatation: Caterham
Are you passionate about supporting the social, emotional, and behavioural development of young people? We are seeking a dedicated and skilled THRIVE Practitioner (HLTA) to join our team and help improve student engagement and access to learning.
This vital role involves supporting the Pastoral Lead and SENDCO in running a THRIVE provision for students with development, social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
Key Responsibilities and DutiesAs a THRIVE Practitioner, your work will be central to student wellbeing:

Safeguarding: Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils, prioritising student wellbeing at all times.

Provision Delivery: Support the day-to-day running of the THRIVE provision, including implementing timetables, planning, and strategies to meet individual pupil needs.

Direct Support: Deliver 1:1, small groups, and class group sessions.

Relationship Building: Establish positive relationships with young people, acting as a role model, and building constructive relationships with parents and families.

Approach Implementation: Use specialist skills to support emotional development and liaise with school staff to embed the THRIVE approach across the whole school environment.

Monitoring & Assessment: Work alongside the lead to assess pupil progress and create up-to-date action plans through regular THRIVE assessments.

GCSE pass grade C (or 4) or above in English and Maths.

Up-to-date training relevant to the post.

Essential: Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.

Essential: Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with SEN, ADHD, and ASC.

Essential: Experience working with children in an educational setting and with young people with challenging behaviour.

Desirable: THRIVE training or a willingness to undertake practitioner training.

A strong commitment to the role, a desire to put the child first, and treat them as an individual.

Ability to work collaboratively as a team member and unaccompanied.

Excellent interpersonal, numeracy, and literacy skills.

Ability to manage the emotional demands of working with young people and remain positive under challenging circumstances.
