Summary
Are you ready to take your project management career to new heights? At UK Power Networks, we're looking for an exceptional Commercial Project Manager to join our Major Connections team in Bury St Edmunds. This permanent position offers you the chance to make a meaningful impact while enjoying a salary of £80,574 plus a 3% bonus, alongside fantastic benefits and flexible working arrangements. Imagine shaping the future of vital infrastructure projects for clients including National Grid, National Highways, Network Rail and HS2, and being at the heart of the UK's energy transformation.
Picture yourself managing complex infrastructure programmes, overseeing projects from initial enquiry right through to post-investment appraisal. You'll ensure the successful pre and post contract management of major schemes, delivering new supply solutions and long-term power for clients, and always striving to exceed customer expectations. Working closely with Asset Management, you'll develop strategies, produce compliant quotations, and analyse networks, all while keeping financial control at the forefront of project delivery.
You'll engage with internal teams and external partners, leading design and programme delivery, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing the delivery of both diversions and new connections. Your expertise will cover all voltage levels, with a focus initially on the EPN area, and you'll build lasting relationships with key customers and stakeholders. Your role will also require you to work cross-functionally, collaborating with marketing, finance, legal, and regulatory teams to deliver successful outcomes.
We're seeking candidates with a degree, HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering and recent project management experience within the electrical industry and distribution networks. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential, as is an understanding of Project Governance and Control processes. A keen commercial awareness and a customer-focused attitude will set you apart, as will your ability to present confidently to external clients and senior management.
If you're passionate about exceeding expectations and driving progress in the energy sector, apply before 30/11/2025 and become a key part of our Major Connections team. Take charge of your future and help shape the nation's infrastructure. Your next big opportunity starts here.
