The duties of the Senior IT Service Desk Engineer role will include:
- Acting as an escalation point for 1st and 2nd line Service Desk Engineers, ensuring complex incidents and problems are resolved promptly
- Taking ownership of high priority issues, providing advanced troubleshooting and resolution across hardware, software, networking and applications
- Providing mentoring, coaching and technical guidance to Service Desk Engineers to build team capability and knowledge
- Leading by example in delivering excellent customer service and communication with end users
- Supporting and contributing to IT projects, acting as the Service Desk lead where required
- Proactively identifying recurring issues and recommending permanent fixes, including process or technical improvements
- Ensuring knowledge base articles and team documentation are accurate and kept up to date
- Assisting with the administration of key systems such as Active Directory, Office 365, VPN, Oracle E-Business Suite and Mitel
What skills and experience do you need?
We are looking for a passionate Senior IT Service Desk Engineer who has a strong understanding of PC (client and server) hardware, peripheral devices and basic network concepts. You will have experience with Active Directory and password re-sets, Microsoft Office support and Office 365. A solid understanding of Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft Office products is essential. You may be required to attend site visits; therefore, a driving licence is also required for this role.
