Summary

Occupational Therapist posts

The Trust is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the team at the Women’s Secure Service to lead the first NWL-wide, female-only Level 2 High Support Rehabilitation service at Melrose ward.

This vacancy has arisen due to new investment from NWL Integrated Care Board because of a growing need for placements for female patients with complex care needs, who are increasingly being placed in independent sector placements- which is socially dislocating and comes at a significant cost to the NHS.

This post is full time within The Orchard, St Bernards Hospital, Ealing- a unit which provides high-quality care for women who have mental illness, or a personality disorder and who need care in a low or medium secure setting.

The post-holder would have an opportunity to join the consultant on-call rota.

Melrose High Support Rehabilitation Ward

Melrose Ward, based at The Orchard Unit, will provide 10 Level 2 specialist mental health rehabilitation beds for women with complex mental health needs particularly where previous placements have been unable to adequately support their recovery. The service will offer trauma-informed, gender sensitive care, with staff trained in the specific needs of women, as well as facilitate family involvement and social inclusion, supporting transitions to community settings.
