Do you enjoy supporting your colleagues and helping them develop their clinical skills?
We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly and forward-thinking community team, working as an integral part of our management team managing a team of 10 to 20 SLTs in the East locality of Birmingham. You will also be working in the Early years team or School- age team.
This is an opportunity to develop your clinical and leadership skills contributing to developing a Balanced System in Birmingham in order to improve and advocate for services to children with SLCN
• You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and support of a team of SLT staff comprising of bands 4 to 7
• You will develop strong and effective working relationships with colleagues using highly developed interpersonal skills
• You will apply BCHC Trust policies regarding staff management with fairness and compassion.

• • Significant new investment from health and our education partners to grow the team: new posts across a range of bands, including significant growth in our leadership team.
• We are working closely with Marie Gascoigne and the Better Communication team implementing a Balanced System approach to support children with SLCN, working in partnership with families, the Local Authority and a wide range of stakeholders.
• We are working in localities developing local networks in order to build skills in the wider workforce and increase the impact of our interventions.
• Experienced team committed to taking NQPs through preceptor-ship & a culture of ongoing learning and clinical supervision.
• Strong links with Universities and commitment to student education

• Supporting the Professional Leads and Service Clinical Manager in the development and implementation of an appropriate training programme for members of the team across the locality, using information from appraisals and personal development plans
• Managing staff performance/disciplinary matters within the designated team, with support from the Service operational manager
• Taking a role in the local implementation and monitoring of clinical supervision/ practice support systems in line with relevant policies and procedures.
• Assisting the Service Clinical Manager and Professional Leads in the recruitment, selection, and induction of staff, as required.
• Participating in the development of clinical protocols for use within the Service.
