Summary

Job Title:
Wall and Floor Tiler / Flooring Installer
Reports To:
Property Maintenance Lead / Site Supervisor
Purpose of Role:
To deliver high-quality tiling and flooring installations across supported accommodation and residential properties, ensuring all surfaces are safe, durable, and visually appealing while meeting UK building regulations and trauma-informed housing standards.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, levelling, and applying adhesives or underlay
• Measure and cut tiles or flooring materials to fit designated areas using hand or bench-mounted tools
• Install wall and floor coverings, including ceramic, slate, marble, vinyl, laminate, and hardwood
• Apply grout and sealants, ensuring watertight and hygienic finishes
• Lay intricate designs or mosaics, following technical plans and client specifications
• Repair or replace damaged tiles or flooring, including patching and refinishing
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and HMO licensing requirements
• Respect tenant privacy and wellbeing, applying trauma-informed approaches during visits
• Document work using fillable compliance templates and digital logs

Skills & Qualifications
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Wall and Floor Tiling or equivalent
2–5 years in domestic or commercial tiling/flooring
Surface preparation, cutting, layout planning, installation, finishing

Work Environment
• May work in occupied homes, construction sites, or commercial buildings
• Requires manual dexterity and physical strength
• PPE and safeguarding protocols must be followed
• May involve travel across regions for installations or repairs
