Bathroom & Kitchen Fitter – UK Job Role Overview
Job Title:
Bathroom and Kitchen Fitter
Reports To:
Property Maintenance Lead / Site Supervisor
Purpose of Role:
To deliver safe, efficient, and aesthetically pleasing kitchen and bathroom installations across supported accommodation and residential properties, ensuring all work meets UK building regulations, HMO standards, and trauma-informed housing principles.

Key Responsibilities
• Install kitchen units, worktops, sinks, appliances, and splashbacks to specification
• Fit bathroom suites, including toilets, basins, baths, showers, and wet wall panels
• Carry out plumbing and basic electrical work, such as connecting water supplies, waste pipes, extractor fans, and lighting
• Perform tiling, flooring, and sealing tasks to ensure watertight and hygienic finishes
• Read and interpret technical drawings and plans for layout and installation
• Conduct repairs and refurbishments, including replacing fixtures and fittings
• Ensure compliance with building codes, water regulations, and HMO licensing standards
• Respect tenant privacy and wellbeing, applying trauma-informed approaches during visits
• Document work using fillable compliance templates and digital logs

Skills & Qualifications
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Fitted Interiors, Plumbing, Joinery, or Multi-Trade
3–5 years in domestic kitchen and bathroom fitting
Plumbing, joinery, tiling, electrical awareness, fault diagnosis

Work Environment
• Mobile across Birmingham and surrounding areas
• May work in occupied properties with vulnerable individuals
• PPE and safeguarding protocols must be followed
• Flexible hours including occasional evenings/weekends for emergency works

Compliance & Governance
• All work must align with Property Maintenance's risk register, property compliance framework, and trauma-informed practice standards
• Fitters must complete onboarding checklists, site-specific induction, and incident reporting protocols
