This is a part-time role, working 11 hours per week.
The working pattern for this role is currently planned as either Wednesday all day or Thursday all day, and Friday afternoon. This may be subject to change depending on business needs.
Interviews for this role will take place on-site, at one of our college campuses in Weston-super-Mare.
The person appointed will join a hugely progressive and forward looking Sixth Form team in delivering a range of 16-19 full-time programmes. The person appointed will be responsible for the delivery of A level Business Studies and will be based in our Sixth Form department, which is located at our Loxton Campus.
Day to day duties of the role
- To provide high quality teaching, assessment, and internal moderation.
- Tutorship of students, giving appropriate support to enable students to achieve their goals.
- Interviewing and giving guidance to potential students.
- Assisting and working with students towards successful completion of Work Experience and Industry Placement.
- Assisting students in their progression from their course, either to Higher Education or employment.
Required skills and qualification
- Degree-level qualification, which is appropriate to the work.
- Knowledge and experience of current teaching and learning strategies.
- Relevant and successful teaching experience.
- Promotion a culture of involvement, listening and being responsive to students' needs.
