Crynodeb
To give patients and the public a voice and ensure their views are acted upon, North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) has a well-established and highly valued Patient and Public Panel. Made up of representatives from local communities, the panel offers meaningful opportunities to influence improvements in NWAS’ emergency, patient transport, NHS 111 and support services.
We are looking for an individual to assist the work of the Panel Facilitator, support and keep in touch with the membership and undertake a range of administrative roles as well as help develop the members to reach their full potential as volunteers.
This is a temporary, full-time role till 31 January 2026 based at trust headquarters at Ladybridge Hall in Bolton and is part of the communications and engagement team. The team currently benefit from a hybrid working pattern; both in and out of the office. The role will be expected to travel around the North West to engage with and organise meetings and activities for the Panel in accordance with an agreed work plan.
The Panel Administrator position requires an individual with strong written and verbal communication, inter personal and administrative skills. These are essential together with the desire to support meaningful engagement with Panel members in order to improve patient experience for the people of the North West.
North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.
Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.
We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.
We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Closing date for applications is 26 November 2025 with interviews expected on Monday 08 December 2025.
