Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing the supply chain process, ensuring efficient transportation and logistics operations. This position requires strong analytical skills and effective communication abilities to coordinate with various stakeholders, including overseas suppliers, carriers, and internal teams.

This is a permanent position for the right person! Office based hours, 37.5 hour's per week. Competitive salary of £35,000 with 25 days of paid annual leave, contributory pension scheme, company employee share scheme following 1 year service.

Duties

  • Liaise with global suppliers and ensuring efficient and cost effective movement of goods to optimise processes and minimise transportation costs.
  • Coordinate and monitor all outbound and inbound shipments, working closely with forwarding agents to ensure prompt and timely dispatch and receipt of documentation.
  • Ensure all shipping documentation is thoroughly checked and verified before dispatch. Accurately measure, record and reconcile freight costs to invoices, working closely with the finance team.
  • Responsibly for completing all documentation for inbound and and outbound shipments, such as commercial invoice, packing list, BOL and any country specific import requirements.
  • planning and maintaining logistics policies and procedures. Keeping up to date specific duty ad code records.
  • Resolve customer service issues related to delivery, addressing concerns and providing solutions to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor and report logistic performance, analysing key metrics and identifying opportunities for improvements.

Essential Skills

  • Experienced in freight management and/or tracking systems, ERP, purchase systems and preferably SAGE .
  • Competent on Microsoft Office programs, in particular excel.
  • Experienced in documentation creation and requirements for handling of inbound and outbound shipments to ensure prompt clearance of product.
  • Knowledge and familiar with duty, commodity codes and BOL matters.
  • Confident working wit overseas suppliers and customers.
  • Open to department multi-skilling as part of a collaborative team.
