About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Technical Engineer to join our growing team. This is a varied and hands-on role, providing technical support to our production department and ensuring that products are designed, costed, and prepared for efficient manufacture. You will work closely with production teams, using your technical knowledge to supply accurate drawings, programs, and bills of materials to enable seamless workflow from pre-production through to final manufacture.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing costings for both pre-production and production parts.
Creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BoMs) using SAP Business One.
Generating laser programs for fibre laser machinery using Bysoft 7.
Re-designing and adapting components to meet production requirements using SolidWorks (Sheet Metal module).
Supplying production with the necessary documentation and technical resources, including drawings, programs, and BoMs.
Liaising with colleagues and customers across engineering, design, and production to ensure accuracy and efficiency in all technical outputs.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong knowledge of SolidWorks, specifically within sheet metal design.
Ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings.
Competent use of the Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience using SAP Business One (ERP system).
Knowledge of Bysoft 7 and fibre laser programming.
Previous exposure to working with CNC fabrication equipment (e.g., laser cutting, press brakes, welding).
