Shift Operations Technician
Location: Forth, Lanark
Salary: £47,000 (including shift allowance)
Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts, 4 on / 4 off rotation
We're supporting a leading Waste-to-Energy facility in Forth, Lanark, in their search for a Shift Operations Technician to join their operations team.
The site processes household residual waste, converting it into renewable energy supplied to the national grid - making this an excellent opportunity to be part of Scotland's sustainable energy future.
The Role:
You'll play a key part in the day-to-day running of the plant, monitoring and controlling operations through the DCS/SCADA system. Working as part of a 24/7 team, you'll help optimise performance, maintain fuel control, and ensure safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Monitor plant systems via SCADA / DCS

Control fuel stocks and optimise plant performance

Carry out equipment checks and maintain accurate operational records

Support environmental reporting and uphold company H&S policies

Supervise contractors on site and maintain high housekeeping standards

Provide shift cover as required within the team rota
What You'll Bring:
-
ONC / NVQ (or equivalent) in Engineering or Process discipline

Hands-on experience in Waste to Energy, Biomass, Power Generation, or Process Industry (e.g. Chemical, Oil & Gas, Marine)

Strong process understanding and control room experience (SCADA)

Positive, proactive approach with strong teamwork and communication skills
