About the Role
Wrexham County Borough Council is seeking two qualified Children’s Enhanced Social Workers to join the Assessment & Intervention Team within Children’s Social Care. This short-term assignment supports the All Wales Pledge, ensuring children and families receive timely, professional, and compassionate care.
You will manage an allocated caseload, delivering routine social work interventions and escalating complex cases where higher-level input is required. Working closely with experienced practitioners, you’ll consolidate your skills, take on increasing responsibility, and contribute to positive outcomes for children, families, and carers.
Key Responsibilities
Manage caseloads, providing routine interventions and escalating complex cases.
Undertake assessments and design care/support plans, including education plans.
Work in partnership with families, carers, and external providers to minimise risk.
Deliver evidence-based plans, ensuring they are recorded, reviewed, and adapted.
Participate in the team duty rota, responding effectively to immediate crisis situations.
Apply social work techniques with flexibility to meet diverse needs.
About You
We’re looking for qualified Social Workers who are:
Skilled in assessment, planning, and risk management.
Confident in independent decision-making, while open to mentoring and guidance.
Compassionate, resilient, and committed to safeguarding children and supporting families.
Experienced in working within multi-disciplinary teams.
