Are you a passionate and resilient English Teacher with experience working with pupils with SEMH needs? Long Term Futures are seeking a dedicated teacher to join a specialist SEMH school in Sutton-in-Ashfield (NG17), supporting students who require a nurturing, structured, and adaptable learning environment.
This is a full-time position with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate. This can be for the role of teacher of English, or Head of English.
The Role:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to students with SEMH and behavioural challenges.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive learning experiences.
- Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs, and external professionals to meet individual needs.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that fosters trust and growth.
- Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and adapting approaches where necessary.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential.
- Has previous experience teaching within an SEMH or alternative provision setting.
- Demonstrates resilience, patience, and a compassionate approach to challenging behaviour.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students.
- Committed to supporting every learner to achieve their potential.
