Residential Support Workers - Transition into Education Location: SK2 Area⏰ Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday Pay: From £102 per day Start: Immediate / Ongoing
About the Role
Are you an experienced Residential Support Worker looking to take your skills into an educational setting? We are recruiting passionate and resilient individuals to work as Teaching Assistants within the SK2 area.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates from care and residential backgrounds who have experience supporting young people with complex needs, SEMH, or challenging behaviours, and are keen to apply those transferable skills in a school environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Support students with additional needs in a small, specialist setting
· Use de-escalation and emotional regulation strategies to manage behaviour effectively
· Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
· Encourage engagement in learning and promote independence
· Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a SEN TA or supporting children with special educational needs ideally Autism
- A calm, nurturing, and proactive approach to supporting children's learning and development
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 TA, SEN, or equivalent) - desirable but not essential
