Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our specialist school in Liverpool, supporting children and young people aged 5 to 11 years. Our school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment for pupils with autism, often with additional learning difficulties and challenging behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils' learning and development under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO.
- Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage social and emotional development.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide tailored support to each student.
- Help create a safe, stimulating, and engaging learning environment.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children or young people with autism and/or additional needs is highly desirable.
- Patient, resilient, and adaptable with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and colleagues.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. , Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are an advantage but not essential.
- A genuine passion for supporting SEND students to achieve their full potential.
