Key responsibilities of the Higher Level Teaching Assistant include:
- Collaborating with the classroom teacher to develop and implement lesson plans that align with the national curriculum and school policies
- Providing individualised support to students with special educational needs or those requiring additional assistance
- Assessing student progress and providing regular feedback to the classroom teacher and parents
- Maintaining accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements
- Assisting with the preparation and organisation of educational materials and resources
- Supervising students during breaks, lunchtimes, and on school trips or extracurricular activities
- Attending staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- A relevant Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience
- Excellent knowledge of the national curriculum and current educational practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required
- Proficiency in using technology to support teaching and learning
