Our client, a respected educational institution in Paignton, Borough of Torbay, is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing individualised support to students with special educational needs (SEN), ensuring they have the necessary resources and guidance to thrive in their learning environment. This position offers a competitive salary range of £105 to £115 per day, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the teaching staff and other support professionals to implement tailored educational plans for each student under your care. Your primary responsibility will be to foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere that caters to the unique needs of every student, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential. You will assist in adapting lesson plans and teaching materials to accommodate individual learning styles, while also providing one-on-one support and encouragement to build students' confidence and self-esteem.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting, and hold relevant qualifications in education, special needs support, or a related field. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be liaising with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to each student's development.
In addition to providing academic support, you will also be responsible for assisting with the personal care needs of some students, such as hygiene and mobility. As such, you must be comfortable working in a hands-on capacity and possess a high level of empathy and patience. The ability to remain calm and adaptable in challenging situations is crucial, as you will be working with students who may experience emotional or behavioural difficulties.
As a part-time SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be required to work during school hours, typically between 20 to 30 hours per week, depending on the needs of the students and the school. You may also be asked to attend meetings, training sessions, and school events outside of regular working hours as needed.
Our client is committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all students, and the successful candidate will play an integral role in achieving this goal. If you are a caring, patient, and dedicated professional with a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding opportunity.
