We are working closely alongside with a local authority in Cardiff to assist with the appointment of a Mobile Responder on a 3-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Summary:

The Mobile Responder is a critical, customer-facing role within the Telecare Cardiff Section of the Adults Housing & Communities Directorate. The primary purpose is to provide an efficient, reliable, and friendly response to emergency alarm calls from vulnerable and elderly customers. This role involves responding remotely to calls, driving safely to the customer's home, offering practical help and support, and liaising effectively with emergency services, next of kin, and care agencies. The Mobile Responder operates on a shift basis, requiring weekend, bank holiday, and night work.

Responsibilities:

Receive and respond to emergency and priority calls reported by the contact centre, including driving safely to the customers home using information received via mobile telephone, tablet, and two-way radio.
Provide any practical help, care, or support required by the customer and inform the Control Centre immediately of the circumstances and the actions taken.
Maintain clear, accurate, and concise records of all visits to customers following an alarm call or routine visit.
Carry out routine visits to Sheltered Housing schemes when the Scheme Manager is absent.
Be responsible for the safe keeping of the Authority's fuel cards and equipment, and complete driver vehicle log sheets and vehicle condition logs
Adhere to the Councils Corporate Safeguarding Policy and procedures, and report concerns regarding the safety and well-being of children or adults at risk (a statutory duty).
Essentials:

Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent, with five GCSEs grade C and above, including Mathematics and English.
Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure with confidence and initiative, and be committed to providing a quality service for customers at all times.
Demonstrate the ability to communicate well (by phone, in person, and in writing) in a manner appropriate to individual needs.
Be proficient in the use of technology (IT systems, programmes, and apps).
