Summary
• Co-ordinate and provide support to the Executive and Full Council decision making functions and to ensure compliance with the necessary legislation and constitution surrounding Committee and Executive administration
• Attend meetings of the Council, Executive and other Committees to provide advice and support on issues regarding procedure and compliance with the law and Constitution
• Co-ordinate and support Committee work programmes
• Meet the administration needs of the Leader
• Research and investigation into issues being considered by Committee or Executive
• Support Councillors in their community leadership role
• Organise both internal and external events, such as seminars and workshops that support the Executive Members in delivering corporate priorities
• Implement and promote the Grants Strategy in line with the Council’s Objectives
• Manage community grant applications under the current schemes operated by the Council and manage the associated budget
• Make decisions on community grant applications that may impact members positively or negatively
• Assist and monitor the performance of those third sector organisations receiving funding from the Council, and to manage and be responsible for the strategic grants budget
• To develop partnerships between the Council and the voluntary and community sector (VCS *also known as the third sector) in order to improve the delivery of public services and further community cohesion
• To promote and provide Funding advice to voluntary and community groups, to support resilience, sustainability and growth
• Liaise with community groups and other agencies and to be the point of contact between those groups and the Council and to assist those groups where doing so meets the corporate objectives of the Council. Assist and support with community impact assessments and community consultation exercises
• Provide support to Councillors and communities with regards to the Localism Act (Community Right to Bid and neighbourhood planning). Co-ordination of community priorities and Section 106 Agreements applying project management skills to take these forward
• To contribute to the corporate needs of the Council by supporting discreet projects and initiatives intended to deliver corporate objectives
