Parents are looking for Personal Assistants (PAs) to support their 16-year-old son, who has ASD, PDA, ADHD and very complex needs.

He is a creative, and imaginative young person who enjoys arts and crafts, baking, cooking and spending time with his beloved cats.

Location: NR 14About the RoleWe are seeking friendly, patient, and reliable individuals to provide support and supervision during a range of indoor activities, including:Arts and craftsPlaying board gamesBaking and cookingAny other reasonable activities that encourage engagement and enjoymentYou will ensure that he is safely supported while having fun and developing his confidence.Person specificationEssential:Calm, caring, patient and reassuring natureEnjoys working with children and young personSupportive and respectful when working alongside a parent in their homeAble to provide constant supervision.Holds a full UK driving licence with appropriate business insuranceUnderstands the importance of confidentiality and respect for family privacyPositive attitude with a compassionate approachDesirable:Previous experience in with children and young people with ASD, PDA, ADHD and very complex needs. Flexible approach to working hoursInterest in arts, crafts, baking, and cookingTraining and SkillsThe following training is required:First Aid trainingDe-escalation training (e.g., Step On/Step Up or equivalent)Ligature training and possession of ligature cutters (ligature cutters to be with the PA all the time). Summary of terms and conditionsThe pay rate for this position is £15.00 per hour for employed PA.Hours and times of work: 03 hours per week and plus 3 hours per week during school holidays. Time discussed further at interview.The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.

The post is subject to the following:A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.Satisfactory references from two referees, one of whom must be your current or last employer.Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months
