Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

Governors are seeking to appoint an exceptional individual with a strong track record in leadership and management in schools, who will be able to command the respect of Eastbury and the wider community.

Moreover, they will demonstrate the values and ethos that have ensured our success, and through involving the widest range of stakeholders, will lead the school forward in its future development.

In addition, we are looking for someone with the resilience, strategic vision and moral purpose to steer the school through the challenging times that education currently faces — including pressures on funding, changing pupil demographics and the increasing complexity of pupils’ needs.

The successful candidate will be able to balance compassion with rigour, ensuring that Eastbury continues to provide an inclusive, ambitious and high-quality education for every learner.

What the school offers its staff

The appointed person will benefit from a fantastic legacy, including: a dedicated staff committed to collaborative working and professional learning; a highly experienced and fully engaged governing body; exciting new and refurbished buildings; and strong links with the local and wider community.

At the heart of all of this, of course, are the pupils — young people who are used to, and expect, a range of creative, sporting and challenging opportunities being integral to their educational experience.

This post offers tremendous potential, with the opportunity to build on the strong foundations evidenced in the school’s current success.

It will provide the successful candidate with a great opportunity to further a career that will already have included significant experience of school leadership and a proven ability to meet the specific and varied needs of all pupils.

Commitment to safeguarding

Eastbury Community School is committed to providing an environment which is safe and where the safeguarding and welfare of each child is of paramount importance. This includes ensuring we build confidence in all pupils to discuss concerns they may have, knowing they will be listened to and concerns acted upon. We expect all staff to share this commitment and to undergo appropriate checks including enhanced DBS checks. We value the diversity of our community and wider society and are committed to promoting and upholding equalities at our school.
