Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

• Plan and deliver engaging, adaptive lessons aligned with the KS3 and KS4 curriculum.
• Encourage courage in humanistic thinking, helping pupils take intellectual risks and embrace challenges.
• Create a respectful and inclusive classroom environment that promotes resilience, curiosity, and a love for learning.
• Set homework and classwork that reinforces learning and prepares pupils for assessments.

Assessment & Progress

• Monitor pupil progress through formative and summative assessments.
• Mark work positively providing constructive, progressive feedback
• Provide timely, constructive feedback with compassion and clarity.
• Support pupils in overcoming barriers to learning with tailored interventions and encouragement.

Collaboration & Communication

• Work collaboratively with colleagues, modelling respect and professional integrity in all interactions.
• Communicate effectively and empathetically with parents/carers regarding pupil progress and wellbeing.
• Contribute to school-wide initiatives, enrichment activities, and cross-curricular projects.

Safeguarding & Welfare

• Uphold the school’s safeguarding policies and promote the welfare of all pupils.
• Respond sensitively to pupil needs, demonstrating compassion and professional judgement.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.

• Ability to deliver consistently ‘outstanding’ lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Strong subject knowledge of the secondary Humanities curriculum, including GCSE content.
