Transport Team Leader RAF Brize Norton – OX18 3LX Full Time, 42 hours per week Salary of £36,841 per annum (Inclusive of shift allowance) plus benefits 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off

At RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, Serco has been providing multi-activity and engineering support since 1997. Serco proudly support the RAF and MoD, supplying around 20 different services onsite, from engine and aircraft maintenance, to fuelling and ground control services. RAF Brize Norton is the largest operating base within the Royal Air Force, providing air transport and air-to-air refuelling to the RAF fleet. Serco currently have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Team leader to join the team. The key purpose of this role is to line manage the Serco MT personal under their responsibility and tasking allocated to a shift cycle.

Main Accountabilities:
- To assist the MT Ops Manager with the control and day to day operation of MT in the unit
- Ensure transport requests are satisfied, in accordance with JSP 800 Vol 5
- Task, and within delegated authority, supervise allocated MT staff in their daily duties
- Monitor staff attendance and performance as required by the MT Ops and Deputy Transport Manager
- Ensure drivers are provided with all necessary supporting items of documentation and equipment to undertake the task
- Comply with the unit system for the reporting and processing of vehicle and equipment faults and breakdowns JSP 800 Vol 5
- Comply with, and operate the system to allocate correctly trained and qualified personnel, in appropriate vehicles, to satisfy transport requests
- Ensure the legislative obligations of the Operator’s Licence/s are fully complied with
- Ensure all Company Policies and Directives relating to Road Transport and Dangerous Goods are fully complied with
- Ensuring that all drivers are made aware of their legal obligations, insurance liabilities, ADR obligations, basic road safety and responsibilities for reporting accidents
- Ensure all employees are correctly trained and competent to undertake their duties in accordance with their core competencies



What you need to do the role?
- Full Driving Licence Cat D & C (C+E Desirable)
- DCPC Licence for respective licences held
- Hold a colour perception category of the required standard to enable the issue of an Airfield Driving Permit
- Have a thorough understanding of Joint Service MT and a working knowledge of Dangerous Goods Regulations
- Knowledge of load and load restraint
- Proven ability in supervisory management
- ADR Awareness in all classes of Dangerous Goods
- Previous experience in civilian and military transport management
