Summary

Production Operative - Specials Department
Location: Almondsbury, Bristol
Pay Rate: £13.76 - £15.82 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent
Reporting to: Specials Manager

Gi Group is working in partnership with a market-leading manufacturer of innovative clay and concrete building products. We are currently recruiting for a Production Operative to join the Specials Team at our client's site in Almondsbury.
This is a physically demanding role involving a variety of production tasks, including sorting and setting. If you are reliable, hands-on, and looking for a long-term opportunity, we would be pleased to hear from you.

Working Hours:
Training Period (12-16 weeks):
Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 4:00pm
Friday: 7:30am - 3:00pm

Post-Training Shift Pattern of Production Operative:
5 on / 5 off - 5:00am to 5:00pm (Day shifts only)
5 on / 5 off - 5:00am to 5:00pm (Day shifts only)
4 on / 4 off - 5:00am to 5:00pm (Day shifts only)

Key Responsibilities of Production Operative:

- Hand-crafting formed blocks to meet customer orders
- Manually transferring wet clay onto stillages
- Constructing brick firing stacks with precision
- Sorting fired bricks into packs according to customer specifications
- Complying with health and safety, quality, and environmental procedures
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and 5S practices

Requirements for Production Operative:

- Strong timekeeping and attendance
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- High awareness of health and safety
- Willingness to learn and operate manufacturing equipment
- Own transport

Desirable:

- Experience in a continuous improvement environment
- Certified Counterbalance FLT licence
- Recognised training or upskilling qualifications
