Summary
AVP/VP - Custody Systems & Technology
90-100k plus discretionary bonus | London | Hybrid (4 days office/ 1WFH after probation)
A newly-created VP role in a major international banking group.
The brief is simple: take ownership of the systems that power custody and clearing ensuring stability, compliance, and continuous improvement across a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
This sits within the Custody Business function where operations, IT, and market infrastructure intersect. You'll be the link between business users, IT stakeholders, and clearing houses. When something changes or fails, you'll know where to look, who to call, and how to fix it.
What you'll do:
Liaise with global and local IT on custody system upgrades and incidents
Coordinate with external clearing counterparties
Maintain custody system parameters and documentation
Support system testing, UAT, and business continuity planning
Train internal users and support daily issue resolution
What you'll bring
Background in commercial banking or custody services
Confident using SQL and database systems
Understanding of SWIFT connectivity and message flows
Experience maintaining CSD/ICSD or custody-related systems
Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline
Mandarin helpful but not essential
