Crynodeb
This role comes with a welcome payment of 5% of the starting salary for the grade – a thank-you for joining our permanent team. This bonus is paid upon successful completion of your probation and is subject to eligibility.
About the Team
As a Chef/Cook, you’ll be at the heart of our hospitality services, crafting delicious, nutritious meals that brighten the day for our clients. Your food won’t just nourish – it’ll bring joy and comfort to those who need it most.
About the Role
Based in Twerton, Bath, you’ll be preparing and serving mid-day meals to residents of the extra care service at Avondown House, as well as visitors to our day services. You’ll have the chance to share your culinary skills across a variety of community groups – every day will bring something new.
This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to make a meaningful impact. The role is permanent, offering 21 hours per week on a two-week fixed rota, including weekends and bank holidays. Because great care – and great food – never take a day off.
We also welcome you to join our ‘Bank team’, giving you the flexibility to pick up extra hours that suit your lifestyle and commitments.
As our services grow, so can your role. There may be opportunities to increase your contracted hours or take on new responsibilities. If you’re someone with energy, enthusiasm, and a passion for making a difference – we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Need
Essential:
Food Handling & Hygiene Certificate
A team-player mindset
Strong communication skills
Flexibility and adaptability
Experience in catering environments
Willingness to support a range of services and partners
Desirable:
Understanding of dietary needs for older adults
Make Your Next Move Matter
If you’re ready to bring your skills to a role where every meal makes a difference, where your work is valued, and where you can grow with a supportive team – this is your opportunity. Join us and help shape a service that truly improves lives, one plate at a time.
