Summary
Sous Chef required for Temp to Perm role in Boutique Hotel, Kensington
We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join a small and friendly kitchen team at a boutique hotel in the Kensington area. This role starts on a temporary basis and is intended to become permanent for the right person. You will work closely with the Head Chef to deliver high-quality dishes, maintain kitchen standards and support smooth daily service.
Role overview
Job Title: Sous Chef
Location: Kensington, London
Pay: £18.50 per hour
Rota: Wednesday to Sunday, 14:00 to 23:00; 40 hours per week
Once permanent: £40,000 per year + service charge
Key Responsibilities
• Assisting the Head Chef in the daily running of the kitchen
• Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to a consistent standard
• Supporting menu development and seasonal changes
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety
• Training and guiding junior staff when needed
• Ensuring smooth and efficient service during busy periods
Requirements
• Previous experience as a Sous Chef in a hotel or quality restaurant environment
• Strong cooking skills and good knowledge of fresh, seasonal ingredients
• Ability to work well under pressure and maintain attention to detail
• Positive, reliable and team-focused attitude
• Right to work in the UK
