Main theatre recovery Unit is situated within the theatre suite and caters for up to eighteen immediate post-operative patients at any one time, we also provide cover on the New Clatterbridge Cancer Centre to which the Recovery staff rotate.

The current staff are all highly skilled recovery practitioners responsible for the safe admission care and discharge of all patients from the variety of disciplines to destinations such as Theatre Admissions Unit, wards within the hospital and critical care.

As we work very closely with Theatre and Theatre Admissions Unit, staff may be expected to support the unit in times of staff shortage.

Although experience would be beneficial it is not an essential requirement for this post as full training will be given, and the successful candidate would achieve their competencies guided by an experienced recovery practitioner who will act as a preceptor.

Theatre Recovery works on a 24/7 basis therefore applicants must be aware that there are a variety of shift patterns including out of hour services. Applicants will be required to work in a flexible working pattern to meet the need of the service







An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 5 Staff Nurses in our Theatre Recovery Unit.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to work within our busy theatres complex. We are proud of our ethos of welcoming new practitioners and providing a supportive, team orientated environment.

The Royal Liverpool University NHS Hospital currently has 19 operating theatres covering all major specialities, including Urology, Breast and endocrine, Renal Transplant, Upper GI, Colorectal, HPB Surgery, Liver, Ophthalmology and interventional radiology to name a few and we currently have a vacancy for a band 5 staff nurse in the Recovery unit.

Theatre Recovery Unit is situated within the theatre suite and caters for up to eighteen immediate post-operative patients at any one time, recovering all patients from day case to level 2 critical care.

Our unit also provides cover for the New Clatterbridge Cancer Centre to which the Recovery staff rotate each week
