Your new company
Hays Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with a two-form entry mainstream primary school in Runcorn that is highly regarded by its local community as they are looking to appoint an experienced and reliable teaching assistant for a long-term full-time contract. This is an extremely supportive and inclusive school that requires a teaching assistant to join their KS1 SEMH resource provision on a full-time temporary basis. You will be supporting a small class of 8 pupils, delivering compressive 1:1 support across the class to ensure that each pupil's individual needs are not only met but at the heart of all operations. As you will be supporting pupils with SEMH, you will need to take a trauma-informed approach to their education.
Your new role
In your new role, you will be joining a resource base, working in collaboration with the SENCO, class teacher and other teaching assistants to ensure the smooth delivery of inclusive and trauma-informed learning. You will take the lead on ELSA interventions, supporting pupils with the growth of their emotional literacy and well-being. Other duties will include:
- Implementing positive behaviour strategies
- Interventions and boosters in core subjects
- Pupil-led curriculum delivery as required
- Integrating into new pupil groups
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK, recent referenceable classroom experience (at least 40 days is advantageous), and:
- Ability to take a trauma-informed approach
- Experience supporting SEMH and/or behavioural needs
- Be able to commit to a long-term full-time contract
