1.0FTE (50% clinical NHS service and 50% academic)

Starting salary: Appropriate Clinical PayScale

The Opportunity

The aim of the post is to support a post-doctoral clinical academic to work within the School, to develop their skills and expertise, and become an independent researcher in trauma and orthopaedics

The post-holder will work within one of the areas of research excellence, in trauma and orthopaedics, to publish research work in high quality journals, and apply for research funding from grant-giving bodies to support own future research. Supervise postgraduate and undergraduate student research.

In T and O the role will involve research related Musculoskeletal disease influences on Population Health utilising national (HES/CPRD) and/or local (RJAH Outcomes Centre/MyRecovery) data sets. Socioeconomic and ethnicity variations in demand, access and outcomes will be explored.
In addition, they will continue to work clinically within the NHS in England, in clinical Trauma and Orthopaedics, for up to 5 Programmed Activities (PAs).

The post is open to applicants with skills and experience in any type of research or methodology.
