Summary
About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic team at a busy Korean fusion restaurant in Crystal Palace. The ideal candidate will support chefs and kitchen staff to ensure the smooth and efficient running of daily kitchen operations while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and food safety.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist chefs with food preparation, including cutting, portioning, and basic cooking tasks
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils
• Wash and sanitise dishes, cooking tools, and work surfaces
• Receive, check, and properly store deliveries of food and supplies
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages or issues promptly
• Follow all food hygiene and health & safety regulations
• Support chefs and service staff during busy periods to ensure smooth service
Requirements:
• Previous experience as a kitchen assistant or similar role (preferred but not essential)
• Strong understanding of hygiene and food safety standards
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Reliable, punctual, and with a positive work attitude
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
