You will use your previous experience of supporting people with learning disabilities and autism to develop discreet supportive techniques and strategies, enabling participants to thrive in the workplace.
The role is extremely rewarding and varied. You could be working in a range of employment settings with participants who have a variety of support needs.
Cheshire West and Chester Council is looking for dedicated and creative Job Coaches to join our Supported Employment Service, supporting adults with learning disabilities and/or autism to thrive in paid employment.
As a Job Coach, you’ll play a vital role in helping participants succeed in the workplace—providing discrete one-to-one coaching and developing practical strategies that promote independence, confidence, and long-term success. You’ll work closely with both participants and employers, ensuring that job roles are sustainable, rewarding, and aligned with individual strengths and aspirations.
Part of your role could involve supporting participants to travel independently, helping them build the confidence and skills needed to work. You’ll also support our Employment Support Officers to assist participants with writing CVs, cover letters, and job applications, ensuring they are well-prepared and competitive in the job market.
This is a highly rewarding and varied role. You’ll be based across a range of employment settings, adapting your support to meet diverse needs and helping to build inclusive workplaces. Whether it’s breaking down tasks into manageable steps, supporting workplace adjustments, or encouraging positive work habits, your impact will be felt every day.
Our team consists of experienced employment support officers who are successful at finding suitable paid employment for participants. We do this by carefully matching skills, experience and aspirations to local employers and jobs. Once in employment a job coach continues to support both the participant in the workplace and employer to ensure the role can be sustained, is delivered to the required standard and is rewarding and fulfilling for our participants.
We’re looking for people with experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and autism, who are empathetic, proactive, and committed to empowering others. If you’re ready to be part of a forward-thinking team that’s changing lives through meaningful employment, we’d love to hear from you.
