Hours: 36 per week (09:00 – 17:00)

Pay Rates
PAYE: £38.09 per hour
Umbrella/Ltd: £50.00 per hour
Experienced Candidates: Up to £60.00 per hour (Umbrella/Ltd)
About the Role
The Royal Borough of Kingston is seeking a Principal Planning Officer to join the Planning team. This role will involve managing a wide range of application types and providing expert planning advice.
Key Responsibilities:
Handling major planning applications
Managing listed building consent applications
Overseeing complex minor planning applications
Providing pre-application advice
Preparing Planning Committee reports
Drafting appeal statements and representing the Council where necessary
✅ What We’re Looking For
Demonstrable recent town planning experience at Principal Planning Officer level or above within a London Local Planning Authority
Strong knowledge of planning legislation and procedures
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage complex caseloads and deliver high-quality reports
Knowledge of Idox/Uniform systems (desirable)
