About the Service
Our Crisis Response Team providesrapid assessments within 4 hoursfor children and young people presenting in crisis across Kent. We’re acommunity-based service, working collaboratively with families, schools, and professionals to provide timely support and reduce the need for hospital admissions.
You’ll be a qualified professional (Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, or equivalent) with registration to your professional body (NMC/HCPC). You’ll have:
• Experience working with children and young people experiencing mental health difficulties, including crisis presentations.
• Confidence inautonomous assessment, risk management, and formulation of care plans.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, compassionate approach.
• A sound understanding of safeguarding, child development, and family systems.
• Flexibility and the ability to travel across Kent when required.
• Provide comprehensive crisis assessmentsin the community or school settings for children and young people experiencing acute mental health needs.
• Deliverbrief, evidence-based interventionsto promote recovery and resilience.
• Support families and carers to understand and manage mental health challenges.
• Work closely with partner agencies to coordinate safe and effective care plans.
• Contribute to the early identification and prevention of mental health difficulties in young people.
