Pay rate: £16.08 per hour PAYE
Role length: Anticipated 1 - 2 months
Working arrangements: Must be flexible on a daily basis as each job differs as does the geographical location of the works
Additional requirements: Must hold a valid full driving licence covering the use of large vans and must be FENSA registered
DBS requirement: Enhanced DBS
The role:
We’re looking for a skilled Installer / Joiner to join the team, fitting windows, doors, and fire doors to the highest safety and performance standards. You’ll take pride in delivering quality workmanship, ensuring every installation meets regulations and exceeds customer expectations.
You must be qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Installations (or equivalent) with at least two years’ post-qualification experience, holding FENSA registration, BM TRADA FD30S, IOSH Managing Safely, Working at Height, and First Aid certificates, with strong knowledge of building regulations, installation methods and construction practices.
Key responsibilities:
Carry out joinery, installation and maintenance work to a diverse range of applications, including new build, occupied and tenanted buildings large and small programs solving complex construction problems
Remove old units and install new windows, doors and fire doors with precision and care
Follow installation guides and building regulations (BS8213-4:2016, BS8214:2016, PAS24:2016)
Interpret scale drawings, specifications and technical instructions and carry out the works in accordance with these with a detailed understanding of relevant documents, including the Wink Haus fire door installation manual
Solve problems on-site using skill and initiative
Carry out joinery, maintenance and fault-finding tasks
Supervise and guide apprentices, trainees and semi-skilled operatives and carry out initial, interim, and final inspections on works carried out by them
Ensure all work complies with HSE standards and company procedures
What the client is looking for:
NVQ Level III in Installations or equivalent and 2 years post qualification experience
Knowledge of relevant building regulations and installation methods
FENSA registered
Hold current BM TRADA installation certificate for FD30S installation
IOSH Managing safely certificate or equivalent
Working at Height certificate
First aid certificate
Understanding of method statements and risk assessments
Good working knowledge of all construction practices
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
