Summary

Job Description: Salaried GP As a Salaried GP, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to our patients. Your role will involve a wide range of clinical and non-clinical responsibilities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare services. Below are the key aspects of the job description: Clinical Responsibilities: - Provide primary medical care to patients, including consultations, examinations, and diagnosis. - Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with national and local guidelines. - Manage acute and chronic medical conditions, including long-term care plans. - Conduct home visits and telephone consultations as necessary. - Order and interpret diagnostic tests and investigations. - Refer patients to specialists and other healthcare professionals when required. Administrative Responsibilities: - Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation. - Process medical reports, referrals, and correspondence. - Coordinate and follow up on patient appointments and referrals. Communication and Patient Care: - Communicate effectively and sensitively with patients, ensuring they understand their medical conditions, treatment plans, and risks. - Provide health promotion and education to patients, encouraging healthy lifestyle choices. - Establish and maintain strong relationships with patients and their families. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care. Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement: - Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives. - Keep up to date with current medical research and evidence-based practices. - Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols. - Attend and actively participate in practice meetings and educational activities. Professional Development and Compliance: - Comply with relevant professional standards, codes of conduct, and legal requirements. - Engage in regular continuing professional development (CPD) activities. - Participate in appraisal and revalidation processes. - Mentor and support junior clinical staff, including trainee GPs. Requirements: - Medical degree and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC). - Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) or equivalent. - Experience working as a GP in primary care settings. - Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. - Commitment to providing patient-centred care and continuous improvement.
